Whether from decay, trauma, or preventative measures, sometimes a tooth has be removed. Dr. Budhani performs extractions for everything from wisdom teeth removal to extractions as a result of tooth decay. Don’t let a tooth that needs to be removed your way of having a smile you’ll be proud of. Sometimes a tooth extraction is the first step toward getting a radiant smile you won’t want to hide from the world.
Saving your natural tooth structure is one of our primary goals at Amazing Dental. Simply, nothing feels or looks exactly like your natural teeth do. However, saving or reconstructing your natural tooth structure is not always an option. In this case, Dr. Budhani will explain to you clearly what your options are and what will happen following the extraction.
Dr. Budhani is proud of his “raise your hand, and I’ll stop immediately” practice. Tooth extractions are a common dental procedure, and we understand that this this process is stressful for many people. At Amazing Dental, we strive to make sure our patients feel safe, in control, and confident in their dental care.
There are a number of reasons that you could require a tooth extraction.
Because our jaws have largely evolved to no longer need or have room for wisdom teeth, many people opt to have them removed before they become a problem, as they often do. Wisdom teeth can cause problems for your other teeth if there is not enough room for them; they can damage the surrounding teeth or move your teeth causing pain, potential damage to other teeth, and problems with your bite.
Not all wisdom teeth need to be removed because they are causing pain. Sometimes wisdom teeth can become impacted, meaning the tooth won’t be able to erupt and could potentially cause damage to the teeth or jaw structure in the surrounding area. Additionally, wisdom teeth can cause sinus issues or soft tissue (gum) issues.
Generally, an x-ray can inform Dr. Budhani if your wisdom teeth will be a problem for you in the future. In the event that they do prove to be problematic, removing them is the best way to protect your other teeth.
Before Dr. Budhani extracts your wisdom teeth, he will numb the area. While he is extracting the wisdom teeth, you may feel pressure, but you will not feel any pain during the procedure. Should you experience pain, simply raise your hand and Dr. Budhani will stop the procedure and tend to your pain before continuing.
